| Fujita 9/11 Presentation Mailed To Canadian MP's Vancouver 911 Truth Society member explains his group's campaign to have the US authorities' account of the events of September 11, 2001, questioned in Canadian Parliament as was done recently in the Japanese Diet. All 308 members of Canada's House of Commons have been sent video copies and translated transcripts of Member of Japan's House of Councilors, Mr. Yukihisa Fujita's, 30 minute presentation before the Japanese Defense and Foreign Affairs Committee that was broadcast live nationwide on Japanese NHK television on January 11, 2008. Fujita raised doubts about the veracity of the US government's account of 9/11 and requested an investigation by Japanese authorities into Japanese citizens killed in New York. The Vancouver 911 Truth Society is calling on all Canadians to pressure their MPs to follow the example of Mr. Fujita and raise similar issues in Canadian Parliament and call for an official investigation into Canadian deaths on 9/11 as well as an honest impartial investigation to find out what really happened that day. |

| Nearly 700 civilians die in 2008 Afghan violence, says UN
KABUL (AFP) — Nearly 700 Afghan civilians have lost their lives in crossfire between insurgents and foreign troops this year, the United Nations said. About 255 people were killed during operations by Afghan, NATO- and US-led forces against militants while 422 others lost their lives in attacks by rebels targeting government and military forces, UN's Relief Coordinator Sir John Holmes told reporters. It was not known how another 21 people died, he added. The figures show a sharp rise in the civilian deaths compared with 430 in the same period last year, Holmes said. "While the proportion of deaths attributed to pro-government (forces) has gone down, the absolute figure has increased, due to the rise in the overall total," the visiting UN official said. Most of the casualties were in the country's south where the Taliban have been active, he added. Afghanistan is wracked by an insurgency being waged by remnants of the Taliban whose regime was toppled in a US-led invasion more than seven years ago. Since then, a 70,000-strong international force has been stationed in the country fighting the rebels. |

Why was the cashing out of billions of dollars just before the 9/11 attacks never investigated? by Jim Hogue Had an investigation been done into the crime of failing to file the “currency transaction reports” in August 2001, then we would know who made the cash withdrawals in $100 bills amounting to the $5 billion surge. It's been over six years since 9/11, but U.S. regulatory entities have been slow to follow through with reports about the complex financial transactions that occurred just prior to and following the attacks. Such research could shed light on such questions as who was behind them—and who benefited—and could help lay to rest the rumors that have been festering. Warning bells about anomalies in the fiscal sector were sounded in the summer of 2001, but not heeded. Among those who has since raised questions was Bill Bergman. As a financial market analyst for the Federal Reserve, he was assigned in 2003 to review the record of July and August of 2001. He noticed an unusual surge in the currency component of the M1 money supply (cash circulating outside of banks) during that period. The surge totaled over $5 billion above the norm for a two-month increase. | If You Question The Official Account Of 9/11 AT ALL... Vote For Cynthia McKinney by Jon Gold 911blogger July 2/2008 In this country, we have a problem. One of many. Our election process is tainted. We are forced to choose between heads or tails of the same exact coin. Because of electronic voting, it is not guaranteed that who you vote for will actually get your vote. Because the media is controlled, we never hear from candidates that do not represent the 1% of this country. Because campaign reform doesn't exist, the candidates of the 1% get as much money as they need, making it impossible for anyone to compete. Third Party candidates are not allowed to enter Presidential debates. Very simply, the process that allegedly gives the people the responsibility of choosing who is best to lead this country, does not work. We belong to the 9/11 Truth Movement. To us, there is no issue more important than 9/11 Truth. In the coming election, there is only one candidate that represents our interests. That person is former Representative Cynthia McKinney. Over the years, Cynthia has championed this cause moreso than any other elected official. She has held public and Congressional hearings on this very topic in the hopes of educating Americans about what is really going on. She has confronted people like Donald Rumsfeld, and General Richard Myers about this issue. Since trying to get the Green Party nomination for President, she has made sure to mention 9/11 Truth in every interview I have seen her in. As I said, our election process is tainted. There is no hope that Cynthia McKinney will win the 2008 Presidential Election. None at all. If you vote for Cynthia, it will be a wasted vote. However, if you question the official account of 9/11 AT ALL, then Cynthia McKinney is your candidate. To me, I would rather vote with my mind, and with my heart, than ever consider giving my vote to someone that does not deserve it. Because of this, my vote is going to Cynthia McKinney. My suggestion to everyone that belongs to this movement or questions the official account of 9/11 AT ALL is as follows: Vote for Cynthia McKinney, or don't vote at all. It may be a wasted vote, but the message is clear. | The Oil Majors Take a Little Sip of the Ol' Patrimony

| More than five years after the invasion of Iraq--just in case you were still waiting--the oil giants finally hit the front page. |
| Last Thursday, the New York Times led with this headline: "Deals with Iraq Are Set to Bring Oil Giants Back." (Subhead: "Rare No-bid Contracts, A Foothold for Western Companies Seeking Future Rewards.") And who were these four giants? ExxonMobil, Shell, the French company Total and BP (formerly British Petroleum). What these firms got were mere "service contracts"--as in servicing Iraq's oil fields--not the sort of "production sharing agreements" that President Bush's representatives in Baghdad once dreamed of, and that would have left them in charge of those fields. Still, it was clearly a start. The Times reporter, Andrew E. Kramer, added this little detail: The contracts "include a provision that could allow the companies to reap large profits at today's prices: the [Iraqi oil] ministry and companies are negotiating payment in oil rather than cash." And here's the curious thing: exactly these four giants "lost their concessions in Iraq" back in 1972 when that country's oil was nationalized. Hmm.
You'd think the Times might have slapped some kind of "we wuz wrong" label on the piece. I mean, remember when the mainstream media, the Times included, seconded the idea that Bush's invasion, whatever it was about--weapons of mass destruction or terrorism or liberation or democracy or bad dictators or... well, no matter--you could be sure of one thing: it wasn't about oil. "Oil" wasn't a word worth including in serious reporting on the invasion and its aftermath, not even after it turned out that American troops entering Baghdad guarded only the Oil and Interior ministries, while the rest of the city was looted. Even then--and ever after--the idea that the Bush Administration might have the slightest urge to control Iraqi oil (or the flow of Middle Eastern oil via a well-garrisoned Iraq) wasn't worth spending a few paragraphs of valuable newsprint on.
